IoT Implementations: Technology, Regulation, and Business Model Perspective

Topic: IoT Implementations: Technology, Regulation, and Business Model Perspectives

Mobile-broadband subscriptions have grown more than 20% annually in the last five years and reach about 4.3 billion globally by end 2017. Young people represent almost 25% or 1/4 of the total number of individuals using the Internet worldwide. In Developing Countries, 28% and in LDCs, 35% of the individuals using the Internet are young people aged 15-24.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a novel cutting edge technology with a revolutionary communication paradigm that aims to bring forth an invisible and innovative framework to connect a major of digital devices with the Internet. The growth of broadband internet will facilitate positive development of IoT.
The appealing IoT services and big data analytics are enabling in providing more better solution for some application to some sectors, such as Industries, Government, Consumer Application as well as Experiment and hobbyiest.
The IoT technology is promotes a heightened level of awareness about our world, and a platform from which to monitor the reactions to the changing conditions that awareness exposes us to. And enables myriad applications ranging from the micro to the macro, and from the trivial to the critical. Things become Smarter, people has a better life experiences.
The series of advanced development in the technological layers in IoT, includes physical layer, data link layer, network layer, transport layer and application layer, are significantly transform this sector, contributing to the improvement of productivity.
IoT-based solutions are expected to be more accurate, low cost, low energy consumption and high-quality-of-service (QoS). However, some other requirements are also important, such as wider coverage, increased flexibility, high security and privacy, ultra-dense deployment and multivendor interoperability.
So, the strategy to achieve the most optimum solution on the IoT deployment, need to be learned and described.
In this lecture session, there will be a comprehensive sharing and discussion about a brief update on IoT implementation, from the perspective of Technology development, Regulation issues and Business model, as well as identifying some related opportunities accordingly.
